Office building jutting out from trees at the rear

CHAMBERLAIN OFFICES

This small office building is located on a rift in the urban fabric. On one side is a Freeway, on the other a park; thus, it occupies a broken seam between car and people, grey and green, hard, and soft. The building’s freeway-facing elevation is clad with mahogany plywood that sweeps around a street corner and above, a two-storey black metal volume springs up supporting an extruded third-storey galvalume box. On the park side, the elevation acts as a neutral black and galvalume backdrop seen through a veil of greenery.
